Alexandra Imelda Cecelia Ewen Burke Quotes
My personality is very in-your-face. I love to get up on stage and sing and dance. It’s just me
Biography:
X Factor sensation Alexandra always knew she wanted to sing, and she started singing at the age of 5. At age 12 she entered her first talent contest, Star for a Night where she came second to Joss Stone. Her big breakthrough came in 2008 when she successfully auditioned for the fifth series of The X Factor.
Earning praise from all the judges, even Simon, and Mariah Carey too, Alexandra went on to win the competition with 58% of the vote. Her debut single, a cover of the Leonard Cohen classic Hallelujah, became the Christmas number one. She’s since released five top ten singles in a row, three of them topping the charts, a chart-topping debut album, and has sold more than 4 million records in the UK.
Currently working on her follow up album, which she says will get “down and dirty”, she’s also been a guest judge on the BBC’s So You Think You Can Dance and has launched a clothing line with JLS called 2KX.
In May 2009, Alexandra began dating her childhood friend, Nicholas Sagar, but the pair split in early 2011. She’s since been linked to rugby hunk and Kelly Brook’s ex Danny Cipriani.
