Aston Merrygold Quotes
We want to make the best album there is so I haven’t been on dates for months
Biography:
JLS hunk Aston was born in Peterborough to a dad who’s from Jamaica and a mum who’s a former roller disco champion. Growing up, Aston considered a career in football, and he played for the England youth team. Problems with his foot meant a career in football was off the cards, so Aston turned to singing and acting for his route to fame.
He started acting in school plays, and then landed a part in the ITV show Fun Song Factory. In 2002, he entered Stars In Their Eyes and performed as his hero Michael Jackson! But Aston’s big break really came when he joined his pals Oritse, Marvin and JB to form a boyband. Originally called UFO, they entered The X Factor, changing their name to JLS. They went on to the X Factor 2008 finals, coming second to Alexandra Burke.
Since then Aston’s scored five number one singles, two BRIT awards, two MOBO awards, two best-selling books, and two double platinum selling albums with JLS. He’s also attracted some pretty keen fans, one who smuggled herself backstage in a hold all in 2009, and another who broke into his house in 2010. As well as obsessive stalkers, Aston’s good looks have seen him nominated for BBC Switch’s Prom King and for Virgin Media’s Sexiest Male.
