Biography:
Britney Jean Spears was born in 1981 in Mississippi, although she grew up in Louisiana.
Brit appeared in The Mickey Mouse Club alongside Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. She went on to date Timberlake, as teens, for three years. The break up left him devastated and it is thought that she inspired the video for his single “Cry Me A River”, where a guy gets his own back on a girl who cheated on him. Ho-Hum.
She released her first single, Baby One More Time, back in 1999. In the video she dances around in a barely there school uniform and taps a pencil on a desk, a lot.
In 2003 she opened the MTV VMA’s with Christina Aguilera and performed “Like a Virgin”. They were joined by Madonna half way through who just popped in to give them both a snog.
In 2004 she decided it would be a great idea to marry childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander in Las Vegas…but then realised that it wasn’t such a good idea and got the marriage annulled 55 hours later. In the same year she got married to dancer Kevin Federline, who she had only known for three months. The pair had two sons together before divorcing two years later.
Brit hit rock bottom when she decided to walk into a hairdressers and shave off all of her hair – by herself. Luckily the papps were close at hand to record the whole thing, her breakdown created worldwide news.
Spears has had massive chart success and has also starred in the film Crossroads. Her next album will be out in 2011.
