White vest-clad bad guy-botherer Bruce was born in Germany while his army dad was posted there, but grew up in New Jersey. Suffering from a stutter as a kid, Bruce found that acting in school plays helped to ease it.
After a stint working as a private investigator, he studied drama before heading to New York. Following bit parts in Miami Vice and the Twilight Zone, Bruce finally struck gold in 1985. Beating 3000 actors for the role, he played private investigator David Addison in the hit TV series Moonlighting opposite Cybill Shepherd.
His major big screen breakthrough came in 1988 when he landed the lead role in smash hit action flick Die Hard. Now a global star and kickbutt action legend, Bruce then took the unexpected leap into family comedy with Look Who’s Talking and Death Becomes Her.
After a series of flops, and a so-so stab at a music career, his profile bounced right back after Quentin Tarantino cast him in the classic Pulp Fiction. Since then he’s starred in acclaimed Hollywood smash hits like Twelve Monkeys and The Fifth Element, combining ridiculous explosions and knowing laughs like no other, returning for a series of tongue-in-cheek hit Die Hard sequels.
Bruce was famously married to 80’s superbabe Demi Moore, having three daughters, Rumer, Scout LaRue and Tallullah Belle, before splitting in 2000. He’s now married to Emma Hemming and is still bosom buddies with Demi and her new hubbie Ashton Kutcher.
