Biography
The Kings of Leon frontman was born in Tennessee, literally the son of a preacher man. His father was a United Pentecostal Church preacher, and Caleb and his three brothers spent most of their childhood travelling around the South in their dad’s car touring from church to church.
After Caleb’s dad quit the church, he and his brothers were free to rock n roll. Caleb, Nathan and Jared were joined by their cousin Matthew and formed Kings of Leon in 1999. Plenty of record labels soon came sniffing around, we’re sure the fact that they are all incredibly beautiful helped a little, and they signed with RCA in 2002.
Initially his band were far more successful in the UK than they were in the US (what can we say, we know a good band when we hear it), but ultimately his band went on to top the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. A lot.
In 2007 Caleb met and fell in love with the girl of his dreams, Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge, at the Coachella Festival. The two wed in May 2011. In 2008 Caleb revealed that he had battled anorexia as a teen and was still very self-conscious about his body image.
In July 2011, Caleb appeared drunk onstage with his band in Dallas. After a bizarre rant the gig and subsequently the rest of their US tour was cancelled due to Caleb officially suffering from “exhaustion”, apparently.
