Biography
Glee’s most flamboyant star Chris was born in California, the son of Irish parents. A real keen bean at high school, he was a member of his school’s drama club, debating society, was editor of the school’s literary magazine, president of the writer’s club and he wrote, directed and starred in his own school play too.
Chris auditioned for the role of Artie Abrams in Glee in 2009 and the director was so impressed with his talents that he created the role of Kurt Hummel especially for him. It was Chris’ first ever TV role, for which he won a Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe as well as two Emmy nominations. But there’ll be no more Kurt and Burt come season four, as Chris’ character graduates from the series at the end of season three.
A talented writer, Chris is moving on to star in his self-penned comedy flick Struck by Lightening, and in 2011, signed a two-book deal to write children’s books, the first of which will be published in 2012.
