Biography
Jug-earred Apprentice fraudster Chris Farrell served his county for ten years in the army and is an ex-Royal Marines Commando. He signed up to the forces when he was 16 years old and served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and Northern Ireland.
Leaving the army he took up a career as a mortgage broker. A decidedly dodgy mortgage broker as it turns out, but more of that later. Chris successfully won a place on the sixth season of The Apprentice UK, which aired in 2010.
Chris got off to quite a slow start on the show but managed to stick it out until week eight when he was fired by Lord Sugar for his lack of entrepreneurial spark.
It soon emerged that Chris was not all he seemed. He was arrested on 4 August 2010 on suspicion of fraud. Turns out Chris had been fired from his previous post as a mortgage broker and had been falsely inflating the incomes of potential buyers to make sure they secured a mortgage – and that he got his hands on the commission. Naughty!
It has also emerged that Chris was convicted in September 2009 for having a baton and a knuckleduster in his car. Chris was sentenced in January 2011 to a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, at Plymouth Crown Court.
