Biography
Power WAG, future Mrs. Frank Lampard, and everyone’s favourite girl-next-door TV host Christine Bleakley has had a swift rise to the top of the TV premier league. Growing up in Newtownards just outside Belfast, Christine dreamed of a television career from a young age.
Starting out as a lowly TV runner and then working as a floor manager at BBC Northern Ireland, Christine’s supreme ease in front of the cameras and sheer gorgeousness meant that she was never going to be stuck behind the cameras for long.
With co-host and Toby Jug lookalike Adrian Chiles, Christine headed the most successful magazine show on telly, drawing in a massive 6 million viewers every evening – endless speculation about their relationship certainly helped boost the ratings. Her profile grew as she took part in Sport Relief, a string of TV panel shows, and danced her socks off in the 2008 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
A much-publicised shift to ITV saw Christine become the most highly paid female presenter on British TV and she took her place next to Adrian once again on the channel’s new-look breakfast show Daybreak. The show got off to a famously shaky start with dwindling viewing figures creating even more headlines. But it’s Christine’s engagement to Chelsea midfield and England ace Frank Lampard that’s really taken Christine’s fame to new heights.
Despite their first date taking place at a Harvester restaurant – no, really! – their down to earth relationship has gone from strength to strength. After 20 months of blissfully happy dating action, Frank finally popped the question while on a totally loved-up holiday to LA with Christine in June 2011. Aww bless.
