Biography
After unsuccessfully auditioning for Boyzone, the Hollywood bad boy and sex tape star who just loves the craic attended The Gaiety School of Acting, but dropped out to star in his first big TV role in Ballykissangel! Colin’s first movie roles in war flicks Tigerland and Hart’s War gained him some attention and firmly established his wannabe tough guy image from the get-go.
Colin’s breakthrough came with 2002’s Phone Booth, an action thriller that scored big at the box office. He stuck to taut action thrillers like Minority Report and S.W.A.T. before making the transition to historical epics with The New World and Alexander, a film notable for Colin’s utterly horrific hair.
Now a firmly established Hollywood leading man, he’s mixed things up a little with the odd Irish-made indie flick, and branched out into comedy of the dark variety in 2011’s Horrible Bosses and In Bruges, for which he won his first Golden Globe.
