Biography

We guess that when you’re looking at Dan O’Connor, you’re not exactly having the most Christian of thoughts. But he is. Before embarking on a life of stardom, Dan worked as a graphic designer and youth worker at Mount Annan Church, perfecting his vocal skills in the choir.

In 2004, he went to Sydney to audition for Australian Idol and changed the course of his life. He reached the finals but was told that he did not have the superstar voice required to progress and finished 11th.

He then took on a regular role of Ned Parker in Neighbours, where he developed a loyal fanbase by taking his top off a lot. In 2008, he quit so he could get his rock/pop album sorted and his musical career back on track. He signed to a British management company and moved to Blighty, but his album didn’t happen.

No great shame there, though - he landed a role as former Army medic Ally in Hollyoaks in late 2011 and now we get to see him on our screens up to five times a week!
