Biography:
Kylie’s little sis Dannii was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. A born show-off, Dannii became a major child star on Australia’s answer to The Mickey Mouse Club, Young Talent Time. It was an early 80’s weekly music show where viewers could tune in to hear Dannii belt out hits like Madonna’s Material Girl week after week.
Dannii began acting from a young age and landed her first TV role at the age of 7. She rose to prominence through her Young Talent Time appearances alongside her roles in hit Aussie soaps, Skyways, The Sullivans, and most notably Home and Away.
Dannii commenced her pop career in 1990 with the release of her debut album, imaginatively titled Dannii. Her debut single Love and Kisses reached number 8 in the UK charts that year. Dannii has so far released 5 studio albums, 6 compilation albums and 28 singles, but to be honest, we don’t remember any of them. Kylie, she ain’t.
She made a surprise comeback to British screens in 2007 when she was chosen as a judge for Simon Cowell’s The X Factor UK. Dannii mentored the show’s acts alongside Simon, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne. To put it mildly, she wasn’t the best of pals with Sharon Osbourne. OK. Sharon hated her guts and subsequently quit.
