Biography:
McFly star Danny got his first taste of fame when he was in year 8 at school, appearing on the talent show Steps to the Stars with his band Y2K alongside his school pal and his sister. A keen musician, he went along to audition for the band V, thinking they were going to be like Busted. When he realised they were more like Westlife, he backed out but was spotted by Tom Fletcher who asked him to write songs with him for Busted.
After writing some songs together they decided to form their own band and placed an ad in the NME. Recruiting drummer Harry Judd and bassist Dougie Poynter, McFly were formed in 2003. The following year they got their big break touring with Busted and became instant stars and teen pin-ups.
To date, Danny’s band have clocked up a double-platinum-selling debut album, two number-one albums, seven number-one singles, 8 million record sales and a Best Pop Act BRIT award too.
A bit of a babe magnet, Danny ditched his long-term girlfriend Olivia Shaw for Miss England 2008 Laura Coleman. The next year the couple split and he swapped Miss England 2008 for Miss York and Miss England 2007, Georgia Horsley.
