Biography
David Hasselhoff first came to our attention in Knight Rider. If you care to remember, he was hailed as a pretty massive sex symbol and went on to make women weak in the knees on Baywatch, in which he famously played LA County Lifeguard Mitch Buchannan alongside Pammy Anderson, in very nice red shorts.
Baywatch did not immediately take off, but David was determined to make it a success and took on the role of producer and even invested his own money into the series. After the second series, Baywatch was an international smash hit and so was David. Dave loved Baywatch and produced the series up until 2001.
At one time David dabbled with a career in pop stardom. However, while the world may not have been ready for The Hoff’s music, Germany was. In 1989, David had two number one hits in Germany.
Since Baywatch ended, David has been in some movies and acted on Broadway as well as filming reality TV shows. He had a main part in the Sponge Bob Squarepants movie in which he played himself and was also in the 2006 film, Click.
Also in 2006, David started as a judge on the panel of America’s Got Talent alongside Brandy and Piers Morgan. David stayed on the panel for four series but was replaced for series five. However, he has since returned to the judging panel on our very own Britain’s Got Talent.
David has experienced problems with drinking and was famously filmed drunk by his own daughter in the hope he would curb his drinking. Unfortunately it was leaked to the press but in the end it worked and David has made a huge effort to stay sober ever since. David has been single since divorcing his wife in 2006, however, he has recently started a relationship with Hayley Roberts who he met at the Cardiff auditions of BGT.
