Biography

Neo-con TV host Elisabeth was born into a wealthy Roman Catholic family on Rhode Island, her dad an architect and her mum a lawyer. Elisabeth went on to study Fine Art at Boston College, marrying her college boyfriend, ESPN analyst and former professional American football quarterback Tim Hasselbeck.

She put her fine art skills to good use as a designer for PUMA before getting into TV. Elisabeth first came to America’s attention when she appeared in the second season of Survivor, coming in fourth place. The competitive edge and forthrightness she displayed on the show earned Elisabeth her big break when she landed the job of co-host of one of America’s most popular daytime talk shows, The View, in 2003. Hosting alongside the likes of Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters, Elisabeth’s become the show’s pretty conservative blonde, speaking out in heated debates in favour of the Iraq war and against the morning after pill.

In 2008 she campaigned for Sarah Palin during the Vice Presidential race, introducing Sarah at rallies. She has since become a news contributor on ABC’s Good Morning America and has interviewed such political heavyweights as Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, George Bush and Hillary Clinton.

Elisabeth suffers from Celiac’s Disease and has published her own gluten-free diet book, as well as producing a range of gluten-free snacks. She’s also branched out into fashion, producing her own clothing line for QVC. She and her husband Tim live in New York with their three children, Isaiah, Grace and Taylor.
