Ellen Philpotts-Page Quotes
I don't really want to do the Hollywood thing. I think you ought to try to say something with your movies
Biography:
Current queen of the indie scene Ellen began acting at age 4, appearing in numerous school plays. She starred in TV movies and shows in her native Canade before her breakthrough role Hard Candy in 2005. The paedo-revenge flick set the tone for the rest of her career to date, sticking to dark, edgy and alternative roles, a far cry from her rom-com Disney starlet contemporaries.
Her profile gained a serious boost playing Kitty Pride in X-Men: The Last Stand, but her big break came with her star-making performance in the critically-acclaimed sleeper hit Juno in 2007, for which she was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe. Now a young star with serious street cred, she went on to host Saturday Night Live the following year, took the mickey out of the Hannah Montana crowd with an appearance in The Simpsons, and starred alongside Drew Barrymore and Juliette Lewis in the ubercool chick flick Whip It.
Next came the massive mindbendy hit Inception, the dark comedy Super, and she’s now received the official Woody Allen seal of approval that all indie starlets crave, starring in his forthcoming Be Bop Decameron alongside Penelope Cruz and the delicious Alec Baldwin.
Ellen’s a young star but she’s already notched up a few hot Hollywood boyfriends include Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz, the gorgeous thinking gal’s crumpet Emile Hirsch, and 3rd Rock star Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
