Biography:
Electropop prince Frankmusik was born in Croydon and attended boarding school, learning the piano and developing a serious synthesiser obsession. He went on to study at London’s Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and the London College of fashion, but dropped out to pursue his career in music.
Starting out as a beatboxer, proving that it’s not what you know but who you know, a friend at Island Records liked his sound and he was signed to the label. He was nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2009 poll and his first album, Complete Me, hit the top twenty on its debut in August 2009. Since then he’s dated Aussie pop siren Holly Valance for a bit, then crossed the pond to the US for the Perez Hilton Presents 2009 tour.
Still hanging out stateside, he’s remixed tracks for the Pet Shop Boys and Lady Gaga, produded tracks by Tinchy Stryder and Ellie Goulding, and is lending a helping hand on the new Erasure comeback album. His second album Do It In The AM is set for release in September 2011.
