Gemma’s breakthrough year as an actress came in 2007 while she was still at RADA. She landed her first TV role in the critically-acclaimed period drama Capturing Mary alongside Dame Maggie Smith, she starred in her first major Shakespeare play at the Globe Theatre and landed her first movie role too, beating Sienna Miller to play the head girl in St. Trinian’s.
She found international fame and transitioned to Hollywood the following year beating more than 1500 actresses to become Bond girl Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace. She followed this up with period drama performances in the major TV adaptation of Tess of the D’Urbervilles and in Lost in Austen, establishing herself as the new leading English rose.
Now the face of Avon cosmetics and fragrances, she has established herself as a bankable Hollywood star with roles in the major 2010 blockbusters Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
After an eighteen month relationship with special effects technician Justin Moench and a six month relationship Spanish equestrian Eduardo Munoz, Gemma married Stefano Catelli, a sales manager, at a secret ceremony in Andalucia in June 2010.
