Biography
Gemma Collins joined the cast of TOWIE during series two in 2011 and has become one of the main stars of the show. The former car sales woman made a splash when she first joined the hit show – wasting no time getting in there and lusting after Kirk Norcross’ dad, Mick. Cheeky!
Since then, Gemma has carved out a name for herself both in and out of the show – with her curvy figure and her man-eating confidence she has been a hit with the nation.
She’s not a one trick pony though and alongside the show, designed and created her own clothing range. She launched the Gemma Collins’ Collection in July 2012, which was worth an estimated £1 million. The range of plus sized clothing has had a good reception – it seems the TOWIE star is now a fully fledged designer. Watch out Victoria Beckham – Essex is hot at your heels.
Down to earth Gemma has had a rocky history with relationships and hasn’t always been the luckiest in love. She even appeared on ITV spin off show, I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here Now – where Joe Swash tried to find her a hot date in the jungle. It didn’t get her far.
Following the split from her long-term boyfriend Dan, whom she’d been with for five years, in 2011 she set her sights on nightclub owner Mick Norcross, but was rejected by him on the BAFTA winning show. Following this, she went on to date her childhood sweetheart Darren Aveley. The two split and in early 2012, Gemma started dating Charlie King. The pair got together finally after he turned up at Mario Falcone’s party in a sailor suit and they had a very public snog. Tongues ahoy. They couple split after two months when King accused Gemma of sending overly flirty messages to Ricky Ramont. Shortly after she was seen out and about with a ‘mystery man’ – who it was still is very much a mystery. In series five of TOWIE, the underlying sexual tension began to come to light between Gemma and James 'Arg' Argent. Following a snog in the final episode – love has blossomed between the pair who are now dating.
