Biography
Academy Award-winning movie legend George was born in Kentucky. His dad was a TV gameshow host and George got his first taste of telly stardom appearing on some of his dad’s shows. After dropping out of university where he was studying Broadcast Journalism, he worked odd jobs cutting tobacco and selling suits before he got his first big TV break with a regular role in the smash hit sitcom Roseanne.
He then found major fame, and became an instant sex symbol, playing Dr. Doug Ross in the hit medical drama ER from 1994 to 1999. He transitioned from TV to movies, becoming serious Hollywood leading man material starring opposite Quentin Tarantino in From Dusk til Dawn, as Batman in Batman & Robin, and playing opposite Brad Pitt in the Ocean’s Eleven movie franchise.
George then moved into directing with the critically-acclaimed Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Good Night, and Good Luck in 2005. He won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in Syriana that same year, and made Hollywood history as the first person to be Academy Award-nominated for directing one movie and acting in another in the same year.
George has had no shortage of gorgeous ladies in his time. Married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 until 1993, he then had a five-year on-off relationship with model Lisa Snowden, spent two years with Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis, and is currently stepping out with WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler.
