Biography
f you want to become one of Hollywood's top leading ladies, it helps to have a mum who's a famous actress and a dad who's a famous director. Luckily for Gwyneth, she had both. Her mum is actress Blythe Danner, and her dad Bruce Paltrow was a film and TV director. Oh, and Steven Spielberg is her godfather. So that'll help too.
Funnily enough, Gwyneth got her first big break with her role in the Steven Spielberg movie Hook. The beautiful willowy blonde went on to make her name with hit movies like Se7en in 1995, and Emma, where she first wowed the world with her cod-English accent. This was put to good use again in Sliding Doors, and in her Oscar-winning performance in the acclaimed Shakespeare in Love. More recently she has starred in the Hollywood blockbuster Iron Man series and donned a fat suit in Shallow Hal.
Once engaged to Brad Pitt, where the couple weirded us out by dressing alike all the time, she then dated Ben Affleck for three years before meeting Coldplay singer Chris Martin in 2002. The couple married in 2003 and live in London with their two children, Apple and Moses.
Nowadays Gwynnie likes to keep us all updated with how much better her life is than ours courtesy of her very own insipid blog GOOP. She's also published a cookbook and starred as a substitute teacher in the worldwide smash hit TV musical series Glee.
