Biography
The blonde one out of the most turbulent teen girlgroup of all time the Sugababes, Heidi began singing at an early age. At age 14 she auditioned for one-time chart-botherers Scooch but was scooted off for being underage. In 1998 she successfully joined Atomic Kitten but left before the band recorded anything.
Her big break came in August 2001 when she was chosen to replace the latest member of the Sugababes to quit in a strop and/or crisis, Siobhán Donaghy. Heidi’s first album with the band, Angels With Dirty Faces, was the band’s biggest-selling album to date and reached number 2 in the UK. She’s since scored 17 top-ten hit singles with the band, 6 of them going to number 1.
In 2009 Heidi and Amelle Berrabah announced that they couldn’t work with head Sugababe Keisha any more. Rather than have two girls quit, Keisha decided to leave the band, meaning the Sugababes now contain no original members.
Heidi has been dating MTV and XFM presenter Dave Berry since 2003 and after proposing to her in her pyjamas, she’s set to marry him in late 2011.
