He may not look like a thespian, but Arg spent much of his earlier years acting. He won the Kenny Award at 15, which is described as Ilford’s answer to the Oscar’s. Also at 16 he picked up the Judy Walker award for the best young actor. He even played the Artful Dodger in Oliver Twist. Somebody get the man a Razzie.
Realising that his path to fame wasn’t paved with Oscars, he worked at Next, a Jewellers and Waitrose before kicking off a singing career. He went to Spain to sing alongside the Drifters before he was offered a place on TOWIE.
Arg appeared in the first series on 2010 as Mark Wright’s wingman. Originally, Arg was only intended to have a small part in the show, but the producers and public liked him and so he was given more airtime.
In series one, his on/off relationship with Lydia Bright was the main focus and this continued. And continued. And continued. Into the second series – the loveable bloke ends up slightly putting his foot in it constantly with long suffering Lydia. Putting on weight and the inability to pass his driving test start to show cracks in the relationship when Lydia’s mum, Debbie steps in. Let the sparks fly. Towards the end of the series, rumours are circulating about Arg cheating.
Heartbreak comes for Arg in series three when…Mark Wright leaves the show. Sob. His relationship with Lydia finally breaks down at the start of series 4, with the two obviously destined not to be together. An amazing comeback in series 5 see's Arg having lost a ton of weight and is running the marathon. It is then he finally get’s in on with co star Gemma Collins. Life is never dull for Arg.
Away from his TOWIE work, Arg has involved with campaigns for companies including T Mobile, TK Maxx. He’s a charitable soul – running the London marathon in April 2012 in a respectable 6hrs 1m – well done Arg.
His on – off relationship with Lydia Bright since 2010 was well documented during the TOWIE series. During 2011, he was also linked to Amy Childs – but she denied the rumours claiming they were friends. When Lydia and Arg finally broke up in early 2012, he didn’t stay single for long. He is currently dating co star Gemma Collins.
