Jennifer Lynn Lopez Quotes
It’s a shame to call somebody a diva simply because they work harder than everybody else
Biography:
She used to have a little, now she has a LOT. Jenny from the block grew up in a Latino neighbourhood in the Bronx, and began taking singing and dancing lessons from the age of 19.
Working as a backing dancer for Janet Jackson and New Kids on the Block, she first came to our attention in 1999 with her number one hit single If You Had My Love. J.Lo’s smooth brand of Latin pop was a hit and she’s since become a bootylicious pop phenomenon, notching up four number one US singles and seven top ten US albums, selling over 55 million records worldwide.
Not content with owning the pop charts, J.Lo also branched out into acting. She hit the mainstream with her performance in Selena in 1997 before going on to star in hit Hollywood comedies like Maid in Manhattan, The Wedding Planner and Monster-in-Law.
Ever the entrepreneur, J.Lo also has her own clothing label, perfume range, and film and TV production company. She has starred as a guest judge and mentor on American Idol and topped People en Espanol magazine’s 100 Most Influential Hispanics poll.
J.Lo’s also had some pretty high-profile relationships, including her first marriage to a waiter in the mid-90’s, a two year blingalicious fling with Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs, her second marriage to dancer Cris Judd, and an engagement to Ben Affleck. Her third marriage was to singer Marc Anthony in 2004, but the couple split in July 2011 after having twins together in 2008.
