Jeremy Charles Robert Clarkson Quotes
The air conditioning in a Lambos used to be an asthmatic sitting in the dashboard blowing at you through a straw.
Biography:
Controversial motormouth Jeremy Clarkson was born in Doncaster, his mum a teacher, his dad a travelling salesman. He began his journalistic career learning the ropes at the Rotherham Advertiser and would go on to write for several papers in the North of England.
His love of cars led him to set up the Motoring Press Agency, where he provided automobile-related content for magazines and newspapers. It was here that he began road testing and reviewing vehicles. He went on to write for Top Gear magazine, and writes a weekly column for both The Sun and The Sunday Times.
His big TV break came when he was chosen to present Top Gear in 1988, a programme he still fronts to this day. It is now the most-watched programme on BBC Two, following a revamp from its original format as a straight-ahead car review show to the more revved-up, explosion-filled boys with toys show that it is today.
Jeremy has been married twice, to Alexandra James from 1989 to 1990, and to his manager Frances Cain from 1993 onwards. He and Frances have three children.
