Biography
Ditzy blonde pop princess Jessica was born in Texas, the daughter of a Baptist minister. She started out singing in gospel choirs and at age 12 unsuccessfully tried out for The Mickey Mouse Club. Leaving school at 16 to concentrate on music, she was signed to Columbia records.
Touring with Ricky Martin and 98°, Jessica released her now multi-platinum debut album in 1999, with her single I Wanna Love You Forever reaching number 3 in the US. To date she has released seven albums, five of them reaching the US top ten.
She became a household name in 2003 with her reality show Newlyweds. The show followed Jessica and her new husband, 98° boyband star Nick Lachey. Their burping, farting, dumb-and-dumber routine led to a TV smash and we found out that Jessica thinks buffalo wings are made from buffalo. The couple split very publicly in 2005.
Jessica may come across as your typical dumb blonde, but when it comes to making money she’s one smart cookie. Since Newlyweds, Jessica has starred in hit movie The Dukes of Hazzard, launched a range of desserts, a perfume brand, clothing line, handbag and shoe collection, her own VH1 fashion reality series and topped the US country charts with her first country album in 2008.
Since Nick, she’s dated musicians John Mayer and Adam Levine, before switching to jocks with her two-year relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and her 2010 engagement to NFL star Eric Johnson.
