Biography
Jessie J was grew up in London, loved to sing, and knew from an early age that it was her true talent. She studied at Colins Performing Arts School and at age 16 was selected to study at the BRIT School. At age 11, Jessie’s distinctive voice was good enough to win her a role in the West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down the Wind.
After her first attempt at a recording career flopped when her label folded, she went on to have chart success as a songwriter. Writing for the likes of Miley Cyrus and Chris Brown, her biggest chart hit as a songwriter has been Party in the USA, a number 2 hit in the States for Miley Cyrus.
An incredible live performer with a killer voice, it was only a matter of time before Jessie became a pop star in her own right. Her debut album was released in 2011 to much critical acclaim, with her debut Do It Like A Dude reaching number 2 in the UK. Her first number 1 single, Price Tag, was knocked off the top spot by her pal from the BRIT School, Adele.
