After posting dozens of homemade videos on YouTube in 2007, where he put his own spin on songs from artists like Usher, Ne-Yo and Stevie Wonder, Justin managed to rack up over 10,000,000 views purely from word of mouth.

A certain someone called Usher caught wind of the hype and flew Justin out to Atlanta for a meeting.

"I sang for him and his people and he really wanted to sign me then and there but I still had a meeting with Justin Timberlake who also wanted to sign me. It turned out Usher's deal was way better.” Justin says.

Got that Timberlake? WAY better. So in 2008 Justin Bieber signed to Island Records and it wasn’t long before Bieber Fever infected the world. And wherever Justin goes so does follow his legions of screaming, crying teenage fans.  It seems the Bieber army will do anything to get close to Justin with one fan even hiding in a rubbish bin to catch a glimpse of her beloved.

And any ladies wanting to date Justin better be prepared to face the Bieber fans first. Using Twitter as their weapon of choice Bieber fans have been known to plague any women linked with Justin with threats. Justin has most recently been linked to Disney star Selena Gomez and was even spotted grabbing her bum on a recent holiday. Well, Bieber fans just were not impressed and Selena was first to hear about this on Twitter where she reportedly received death threats.

Still not convinced? Justin Bieber is more influential in the social networking world than Barack Obama or The Dalai Lama a report in The Observer found. For a kid that doesn’t know what Germany is, this is pretty impressive.
