Biography:
International pop superstar-turned-actor and budding entrepreneur Justin Timberlake was born in Memphis, Tennessee, his dad a choirmaster at the local Baptist church. At the age of 10, Justin had his first stab at the music biz, performing country songs on Star Search under the distinctly more country-friendly name of Justin Randall.
In 1993 he got his first big break when he successfully auditioned for The Mickey Mouse Club. His fellow Mousketeers famously included Christina Aguilera, future ‘N Sync bandmate JC, and future girlfriend and pop sensation Britney Spears.
In 1995 Justin and JC formed ‘N Sync and were catapulted into boyband superstardom, selling more than 50 million albums to become the third-biggest selling boyband in music history. Justin emerged as the band’s true star and with the help of The Neptunes and Timbaland released his debut solo album Justified in 2002, selling more than 7 million copies.
He’s since gone on to become a Grammy award-scooping entertainment force, creating his own unique R&B pop sound, branching out into acting, with his acclaimed performance in The Social Network, comedy, with appearances on Saturday Night Live, and the business world, recently investing in a buyout of MySpace.
