Kate Noelle Holmes Quotes
I'm not that smooth type of girl. I run into things, I trip, I spill food. I say stupid things... I really don't have it all together
Biography:
Dawson’s Creek star Katie has come a long way from her hometown of Toledo. Attending an all-girls school, she was a straight A student, appearing in school plays and began taking classes at a modelling school at the age of 14.
Katie’s breakthrough year came in 1997 when she was cast in her first feature film, Ang Lee’s The Ice Storm alongside Sigourney Weaver. She turned down the role of Buffy the Vampire Slayer before landing the big break that catapulted her to superstardom and onto the poster-ridden walls of a million teen boy’s bedrooms.
In 1998, Katie landed the role of awkward tomboy Joey Potter in the smash hit teen drama Dawson’s Creek. She and her co-stars Michelle Williams, James Van Der Beek and Joshua Jackson became teen idols overnight and the show ran until 2003.
Katie then tried to shake off her squeaky clean Dawson’s Creek image, getting her kit off in The Gift alongside Cate Blanchett and Keanu Reeves, playing a homicidal student in Abandon, then landing a role in Hollywood blockbuster Batman Begins in 2005. More recently she starred as Jackie O in the big-budget 2011 TV drama The Kennedy’s.
Katie famously dated her Dawson’s Creek co-star Joshua Jackson, then American Pie hunk Chris Klein, but she became instant tabloid-fodder when she began dating Hollywood legend and serious oddball Tom Cruise in 2005. She converted to his beloved Church of Scientology and the couple wed in November 2006, seven months after having their first daughter, Suri.
