Biography

You'll probably remember Katie Holmes best for her role as sweet but complicated Joey Potter in Dawson's Creek. She starred in the show alongside Joshua Jackson, James Van Der Beek and Michelle Williams.

Katie also strarred in a number of films, including Batman Begins, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark and Jack And Jill.

Katie Holmes' fame grew when she married one of the most famour actors in the history of the world: Tom Cruise. Just weeks after her five-year relationship with Chris Klein ended in 2005, Katie met Tom. Tom proposed on 17 June, 2005, at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris - but not before he appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show and jumped up and down on her sofa saying how in love he was. On 18 November, 2006, Katie and Tom were married at the 15th-century Odescalchi Castle in Bracciano, Italy, in a Scientology ceremony - Katie and Tom's religion of choice.

Katie gave birth to the couple's first baby, a daughter called Suri on 18 April, 2006, who just so happened to grow up to be one of the most famous children in Celebsville.

On 29 June 2012, the world was shocked to hear that Katie had filed for divorce from Tom after five years of marriage - the couple seemed so happy, but it's been reported that Tom's obsession with Scientology is partly to blame for the divorce.

She's starring in a new film in 2012, Molly, which tells the story of a single mother raising her child. How coincidental?
