Biography
Fashion queen of LA and star of the strangely addictive The Hills, Lauren found fame in high school when she became the star of MTV’s smash hit teen reality drama Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The show ran from 2004 to 2006, following Lauren and the other rich Laguna Beach kids’ high school lives.
Graduating in 2004, she headed to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for a semester with her BFF Heidi Montag. Moving on to study at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA, Lauren was cast in the Laguna Beach spin-off series The Hills in 2006.
One of the first scripted reality shows, The Hills was an overnight sensation, and somehow those affluent brats of LA shopped, partied, bitched and whined their way into our hearts. Following Lauren as she interned at Teen Vogue and People’s Revolution, fell out with Heidi, and split up with partyboy Jason, she left the show in its fifth season in 2009.
Now a bona fide style icon, Lauren’s launched three clothing lines, The Lauren Conrad Collection, LC, and her latest, Paper Crown in 2011. She’s also branched out into the literary world with her LA Candy book trilogy. Imaginatively, the books follow a young woman who moves to LA and becomes the star of a reality show…
