Biography:
These days, former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has to rely on increasingly wearisome public spats with his brother and one-time band mate Noel to get his name into the papers.
It wasn’t always this way, though. In the late 90’s, he was never out of the red-tops, what with his erratic behaviour, famous wife, and fast-living ways. His high-profile romance with, and subsequent marriage to Patsy Kensit was a match made in tabloid hell, with torrid affairs, public bust-ups, and violent incidents aplenty – including a notorious road rage incident where he picked up a cyclist and threw him off his bike.
The couple split in 2000, just as the public at large were beginning to lose interest in the exploits of the Gallagher brothers. Later, he got together with Nicole Appleton from 90’s girl group All Saints, and they were married in secret in 2008, which gave him yet another photographer-punching opportunity.
Oasis split for good in 2009 after a well-publicised bout of backstage fisticuffs between the brothers. Liam then went on to form a new group called Beady Eye with some of his former band mates. To date they have yet to equal the chart-topping success he enjoyed with Oasis.
