No child star ever ditched their Disney image more decisively than the terminally troubled Lindsay Lohan. Starting out as a child model from the age of 3, she starred in more than 100 TV commercials before moving into acting.
Snapped up by Disney, her first major movie role came in 1998’s hit family comedy The Parent Trap. She went on to become the queen of teen comedy with hit roles in Freaky Friday and Tina Fey’s high school bitchfest Mean Girls.
Launching a pop career in 2004, her platinum-selling debut album peaked at number 4 before her career hits the skids in 2007. Movie roles dried up fast after 3 arrests and 4 stints in rehab for completing the holy trinity of crimes most favoured by hell-bent teen stars: DUI, cocaine possession and shoplifting heftily-priced jewellery items.
Following some brief jail time, Lindsay made her comeback in 2008 with appearances in Ugly Betty, Project Runway, and as a gun-toting, drug-snorting wild child in 2010’s Machete.
