Biography
Mark Owen is one fifth of reformed man band Take That who shot to fame in the nineties. Mark was arguably the most popular member of Take That, proving this was a confusing decade for everyone. Mark was voted Smash Hit's "Most Fanciable Male in the World" and owner of the "Best Haircut”.
In between the band’s tragic split (we can still feel the pain) in 1996 and the joyous reunion in 2005, Mark tried his hand at a solo career. Following a stint on Celebrity Big Brother in 2002, in which Mark managed to beat off stiff competition from Les Dennis to be crowned winner, Mark took advantage of his popularity and released the single Four Minute
Warning. If we try really hard we can just about remember it.
Since Take That reformed Mark’s responsibility has mainly been to provide squeaky vocals and look loveable. However, he did manage to steal Gary Barlow’s microphone and bag the lead vocals on the brilliant Shine (the one off the Morrisons advert).
Mark Owen is also one of the most unlikely love rats in showbiz. The world was left stunned in 2010 when it was revealed Mark was a sex addict and had been conducting a number of saucy affairs behind his wife’s back. Mark admitted everything saying: "I have had issues for a long time. I've drunk for the last ten years and it got to a bad point. That's been my issue. I have been a prat”
He even had to take time off from recording the album Progress to get proper professional help for his sexy problem. Proof sometimes it is always the quiet ones.
