Biography:
JLS’ official number one hunk Marvin was born in London. He always loved to sing, but his first real dream was to be a footballer, and he tried out for the Portsmouth team. Then he moved on to acting, playing Robbie Waring in the BBC medical soap Holby City from 2000 to 2003.
In 2003 he met future Blue star Simon Webbe and joined his boyband VS. They had a top ten hit in 2004 with the tune Love You Like Mad. He later met the mastermind behind JLS, Oritse Williams, and was recruited to join them on the back of his VS experience.
Originally called UFO, the band formed in 2006 and toured like crazy, getting nowhere, until they successfully auditioned for the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008. The came second to Alexandra Burke, but went on to top the charts with their debut single. To date, Marvin’s band have five number one singles, two BRIT awards, two MOBO awards, two best-selling books, and two double platinum selling albums to their name.
Marvin’s the band’s megahunk, and even Rihanna has admitted she fancies the pants off him. He dates his VS bandmate Jaime Summaz for 6 years, but in March 2010 started dating The Saturdays singer Rochelle Wiseman. After a brief split in 2010, the couple got back together again in January 2011.
