Biography

Friends star Matt was blessed with wholesome Italin-American good looks that started to win him parts in ad’s and commercials as a kid. Popping up in music videos for Alanis Morissette and Jon Bon Jovi by the early 90’s he’d decided he wanted to act and got his first TV break in the Married…with Children spin-off Top of the Heap in 1991.

He was catapulted into the big league when he landed the role of dumb Joey Tribbiani in Friends in 1994 and played the character for a whole decade. The show became the highest rated show in America, and eventually earned Matt and his co-stars an astounding $1 million per episode. Each.

On the back of his Friends success, he landed his own spin-off show, Joey. A feeble follow-up to its mighty predecessor, it lasted a measly two seasons. His TV stardom acted as springboard for comedy movie roles, including the monkey-based movie Ed, where he played a baseball player who befriends a talented baseball-playing chimp. Yes, really. It received three Razzie nominations and currently holds a jaw-dropping 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

He faired far better with hit comedy roles in Lost in Space and the Charlie’s Angels films, and has gone on to star in the as a fictional version of himself in the BBC/Showtime sitcom Episodes in 2011.

Matt’s currently in a relationship with Joey co-star Andrea Anders.
