Ex-Busted star and king of the I’m A Celebrity jungle, Matt grew up in Surrey, a tearaway teen that was expelled from school. He then attended the renowned Sylvia Young Theatre School alongside pals and future stars Tom ‘McFly’ Fletcher, Lee Ryan, Billie Piper, and Amy Winehouse, who used to fancy him at school.
Matt joined Busted in 2000 and they were an overnight success, becoming instant teen idols with their teen pop-punk sound. Winning two BRIT’s, both of their albums reached number 2, and every single one of their eight singles reached the top three, scoring four number 1 singles in total.
Since Busted split in 2005, Matt’s had a heck of a time, spending three stints in rehab for booze and drug problems. He launched a solo career the year of the Busted split and scored three top 20 singles, that basically all just sounded like Busted.
His profile got a real boost in 2006 when lovable Matt was crowned king of the I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here jungle. He’s since back in the studio recording, has appeared in Flashdance in London’s West End and is rumoured to be auditioning for a part in Eastenders.
