Biography:
Ex-OC star Mischa isn’t a California girl at all, in fact, she was born in London. Mischa lived in London until the age of six, when the family moved to New York. Growing up in NYC, Mischa studied acting at the private Professional Children’s School in Manhattan, graduating in 2004.
She began acting on stage at the age of eight, eventually landing child acting roles in the likes of Notting Hill, The Sixth Sense, and Lawn Dogs, and going on to star in hit US soap All My Children.
But it wasn’t until 2003 that Mischa really appeared on our radar, landing the role of troubled rich kid Marissa in The OC. She played Marissa for the show’s first three seasons until she tragically and horrifically died onscreen causing us to weep buckets.
Since The OC catapulted Mischa to megastardom, she’s continued to act in movies like Virgin Territory with Hayden Christensen and St. Trinians, and some straight-to-DVD horror action. Like her OC co-star Rachel Bilson, Mischa’s become something of a fashion icon. She’s appeared in Gok’s Fashion Fix, modelled for Calvin Klein, and in 2008 she launched her own handbag range.
Mischa has a bit of a wild streak, being busted for drunk driving in LA in 2007. She’s also heavily addicted to rockers, having dated Whitestarr frontman Cisco Adler, Rooney guitarist Taylor Locke and actor and musician Jamie Dornan. Her most recent fling was with The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard in 2008, but the pair split in 2009.
