Biography
Grey’s Anatomy hunk Patrick was born in Lewiston, Maine in January 1966. While at high school, Patrick loved playing baseball, excelled at skiing, oh, and he came second in a national juggling contest too. He was diagnosed with dyslexia at age 12, which means that Patrick has to memorise all of his lines for acting roles and auditions.
Patrick’s first move into the world of performing came when he landed in a role in Torch Song Trilogy when he was just 17. He then went on to use his juggling skills in ABC sitcom Overnight Success. Patrick has been starring on television since 1986, and you may have spotted him in Will & Grace, where he played Will’s boyfriend for 3 episodes.
His big TV break and leap to superstardom came when he landed the role of Dr. Derek Shepherd, or McDreamy as we like to call him, in hit US TV medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. His gorgeousness has also landed Patrick some high profile modelling work as the male face of L’Oreal and Versace.
Patrick has also been starring on the big screen since the mid-80’s, although you probably won’t have seen many of the films on his IMDB page. That is until more recently when he scored box office hits with Sweet Home Alabama, Enchanted and Valentines Day and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
