Peter Doherty Quotes

I have a very bad relationship with the future. We don't get on. We just ignore each other
Biography:
Drug-addled poet and rock ‘n’ roller Pete travelled around a lot as a kid, as his dad was in the army. A bright young thing at school, he left to study English at the University of London but dropped out after a year and worked as a gravedigger.
He formed his band The Libertines with his pal Carl Barat in the late 90’s and their debut Up the Bracket was a ramshackle indie sensation. Their follow-up album debuted at number 1 and they notched up four Top 20 singles. Their success was drastically halted by Pete’s heavy heroine addiction and he was jailed in 2003 for burgling Carl’s flat.
Pete went on to have his own solo career, playing the Royal Albert Hall in 2008, and inbetween bouts in prison and rehab, somehow managed to score two Top 10 albums with his band Babyshambles.
After releasing his The Books of Albion: The Collected Writings of Peter Doherty in 2007, Pete gained some high-brow attention for his poetry and reunited with The Libertines in 2010 for a tour of that summer’s festivals. He’s since been sentenced to six months jail time for drugs possession in May 2011. Again. Sigh.
Pete’s also famous for his tumultuous relationship with Kate Moss. They dated from 2005, became serious tabloid-fodder, got engaged in 2007 and split three months later. He also had a son in 2003 with singer Lisa Moorish and was briefly engaged to model Irina Lazareanu.
