Biography:
Legally blonde star Reese was raised in Nashville, Tennessee and when she landed her first modelling job in a commercial at age 7, she knew she wanted to act. Reese managed to avoid the usual teen actor slog through episodes of LA Law and Growing Pains and landed the first ever Hollywood movie role that she auditioned for, The Man in the Moon, at age 14.
She still had to wait 7 years for her breakout role though, starring opposite Tobey Maguire in Pleasantville, the film launched both their careers. Reese has since picked out a variety of hit roles for herself, from rom-coms like Sweet Home Alabama to period dramas like Vanity Fair, inbetween proving herself a driving force behind comedies with bite, like her hugely successful turn in the Legally Blonde films.
Reese’s most triumphant role to date was in the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line in 2005. She put her Nashville roots to good use playing June Carter Cash, scooping the Best Actress Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance. She’s since gone on to test herself again with political drama Rendition and is set to star in an upcoming biopic as the legendary Peggy Lee.
As well as a glittering Hollywood career, Reese also has a glittering dating history. She’s dated Stephen Dorff, Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Wahlberg, been married to Ryan Phillippe, and in March 2011 married talent agent Jim Toth.
