Rhys Owain Evans Quotes
I don't sit around with other actors and talk about the pain and the magic of acting. I'd rather just go down the pub
Biography:
Scruffpot wildman-about-town and A-list babe magnet Rhys was born and raised in Wales and started acting at a young age. Attending kids acting classes at Theatr Clwyd, then training at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, he started presenting kids shows on TV in Wales and sang with the Super Furry Animals before leaving for London at age 18.
Rhys’ breakthrough film role was alongside his brother Llys in the Welsh answer to Trainspotting, Twin Town, in 1997. But the part that brought him to international attention was his role as the shower-dodging roommate Spike in the massive British rom-com hit Notting Hill in 1999.
Since winning a BAFTA for his performance as the comic genius Peter Cook in biopic Not Only But Always, Rhys has gone on to star in a mixture of Shakespearean theatre roles, British films, and Hollywood hits, including Nanny McPhee, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, as well as The Shipping News with Kevin Spacey.
As well as singing in the Welsh psychedelic rock band The Peth, Rhys is also set to play the villain in the forthcoming revamped Spiderman movie franchise.
Despite his wildman antics, Rhys has attracted some top A-list totty in his time, dating Kate Moss, Kimberley Stewart, getting engaged to Sienna Miller after a famously on/off relationship until she coldheartedly dumped him a few months later. Since 2011, he’s been seen stepping out with actress Anna Friel.
