Biography
Robert Pattinson is the man that taught everyone that vampires can be sexy. Shooting to fame starring as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies, R-Pattz is fast becoming one of Hollywood’s failsafe go to leading men.
Obviously gorgeous from birth, when Robert was 12 he was spotted by a model agent and his parents encouraged him to take up the offer. He says of the time: "When I first started I was quite tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs, because it was during that period where the androgynous look was cool." He’s grown out of that stage thankfully.
Rob didn’t always want to act – when he was younger he joined a theatre group to work backstage. However, it wasn’t long before he was flexing his acting muscles on the stage. It was here that the star was spotted again, this time by an acting agent. Soon Rob was auditioning for roles left right and centre. He eventually landed the part of Cedric Diggory, in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire in 2005.
After this he questioned whether acting really was for him and very nearly didn’t go to the Twilight audition. Luckily Rob did manage to drag himself out of bed and the rest, as they say, is history! He has since starred in films like Remember Me in 2010 and alongside Reese Witherspoon in Water for Elephants in 2011. He also stared in Cosmopolis in 2012, based on the novel by Don DeLillo. The final instalment of the Twilight Saga will be hitting screens in late 2012.
Following the unbelievable success of the Twilight films, Robert became an international superstar. He was quickly regarded as one of the world’s best looking men and wherever Rob goes, hoards of screaming girls follow. Fans camp outside for days at a time to catch a glimpse of the heart throb star.
The hunk dated Nina Scubert for three years. The pair met in a London drama school. They reportedly lived together until 2006 when they called time on their relationship.
In 2008 he met Kristen Stewart on the set of Twilight, in which she plays his on-screen love, Bella Swann. The couple denied they were an item for a stupid amount of time, but finally admitted after a long time that they happily live together. The couple even adopted a dog called Bear.
The couple split up in 2012 when it came to light that Kristen Stewart had cheated on the star with Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders. The actress released a public statement of apology to the heartthrob.
