Biography:
Pop star Rochelle was born in Barking, and her parents split up when she was 3 years old. She attended a girl’s school in Romford before heading on to the Colin’s Performing Arts School, where she perfected her dance moves and singing technique.
In a sort of X Factor for tweenies, kids TV show CBBC launched a talent show hoping to produce a kiddie version of the then popular pop group S Club 7. Rochelle auditioned at age 12 winning a place in S Club Juniors in 2001. They later changed their name to S Club 8, perhaps to reflect the average age of their band members. They did surprisingly well chart-wise, earning 6 top ten hit singles in the UK.
S Club 8 couldn’t last forever though, and next Rochelle auditioned for girlband The Saturdays. After a successful audition, Rochelle was selected to join Frankie, Vanessa, Una and Mollie in what was to become one of the hottest new girlbands in the UK. They quickly signed to Fascination Records and then toured with Girls Aloud. The Saturdays have released 10 singles to date, with 9 of them reaching the UK top ten. Their third album is scheduled for release in September 2011.
