Biography
Before little Rupert Grint was catapulted to global megastardom with his role in the Harry Potter movies, his only previous acting experience was as a fish and as a donkey in his local drama group productions. He auditioned for the role of the similarly flame-haired Ron Weasley in 2000 at the age of eleven, sending in a tape of himself rapping about how much he wanted the role. A Ron Weasley rap, now that we’d pay to see.
Eight box-office record-smashing movies later, Rupert finally bid farewell to Ron in 2011 having played the character for a whole ten years, getting absolutely filthy rich in the process. At 23, Rupert is now the proud owner of $25 million. *jaw drops*
While working on Harry Potter, Rupert starred in some hits of his own too, including the surprisingly hilarious fart-based movie Thunderpants in 2002, and starred opposite the legendary Julie Walters in Driving Lessons in 2006.
So what is Rupes going to do to shake off his wizarding image? Emma cut off all her hair, Daniel got his kit off on stage, and Rupert…is going to star as eccentric British ski-jumper Eddie The Eagle Edwards in an upcoming biopic. The ginger hair coming in handy again there. He’s also the star of the highly anticipated Comrade, a forthcoming anti-war film set during WWII.
