Canadian actor and People Magazine’s current Sexiest Man Alive, Ryan was born in Vancouver. His dad was a Canadian mountie and his mum worked in retail. After graduating from Kitsilano Secondary School, he dropped out of college to pursue an acting career. And boy are we glad he did.
Starting out in 1990 in teen soap Hillside, Ryan steadily worked his way up the Hollywood ranks to become one of the hottest young properties in town. Along the way you may have caught him in National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, Sabrina the Teenage Witch (!), Blade: Trinity, Smokin’ Aces, Buried, and DC superhero flick Green Lantern alongside Blake Lively.
A hit with the ladies, Ryan was engaged to fellow Canadian superstar Alanis Morrisette and the two were together from 2003 to February 2007. Shortly after the break up, Ryan began dating Scarlett Johansson. The two wed in a completely hush-hush ceremony in Canada in 2008, but announced their separation in December 2010.
