Biography

Sam is quickly shaping up to be this year’s favourite on Dancing on Ice and has admitted to “warming his muscles for lifting the trophy”.  However, if anything is between Sam and victory it’s a jolly time down the pub. Sam has admitted:

“The problem is too many cheeky beers. But after a day of solid training and working you just need to go and chill out!”

Before donning his spandex for Dancing on Ice, Sam was best known for looking pretty hot playing Leon Small in Eastenders.

Before finding his break on Easties, Sam trained at the Italia Conti School for performing arts. Other notable alumni include Russell Brand, Kelle Bryan and Louise Redknapp, so Sam isn’t in bad company.

He left school to pursue a career in Musical Theatre and did not too bad at all. Sam starred in Tonight’s The Night, 12 Tenors and 20th Century Boy. During this time he also danced in a Bollywood film and appeared in four episodes of Hollyoaks in 2009, playing ‘Ricky’. Anyone remember Ricky/ Anyone?

Sam appeared in Eastenders as the Square’s resident fitty Leon Small, but left when the character was axed in May, just five months after he started. While his character may have been a bit of a ladies man, Sam doesn’t count himself as one saying in an interview:

“He's quite good with the ladies, and I'm not - I'm a bit rubbish!"

Sam hopes to re-establish himself as a singer after he’s earned his sequins on Dancing on Ice, even having a CD planned. The EP entitled Breaking Boundaries, will be released on the 2nd of February.

But before that, Sam just hopes to fill some pretty big skates:

“I want to be better than Chris Fountain and Ray Quinn. It is a hard act to follow but that’s my goal.”

Let’s hope Sam can do it!
