Biography

Inbetweeners star Simon was born in Guildford and, after attending an all-boys public school in Surrey, headed off to Cambridge University. While studying at Queen’s College, Simon joined the renowned Cambridge Footlights, the drama society that gave us the likes of Peter Cook, Stephen Fry, Sacha Baron Cohen and half of Monty Python.

Simon set up his own sketch group, The House of Windsor, with fellow Footlighter and future Inbetweeners co-star Joe Thomas. They took their critically acclaimed show to the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 and 2008. Simon attempted to win the Chortle National Student Comedy Awards in 2005, 2006, and 2007, coming second in 2008.

Simon’s since risen to national stardom with his starring role alongside his pal Joe in the award-winning E4 comedy series The Inbetweeners. Running for three series from 2008, the show became a hit movie in 2011 and won Best Sitcom at the 2011 British Comedy Awards.

Simon still does stand up, currently stars in Friday Night Dinner (written by the team behind Peep Show), and is set to star with his House of Windsor castmates Joe and Jonny Sweet in the new Channel 4 comedy Chickens.
