Biography:
2010’s Queen of the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Jungle, Stacey Solomon is a Dagenham born east Londoner of Jewish descent. She’s also a single mother to her young son Zachary. The 21-year-old is, however, currently in a relationship with Aaron Barnham.
Stacey is from a large family, with two brothers and one older sister, plus two step brothers and a step sister. Meal times and morning bathroom routines must have been interesting in the Solomon household whilst they were all growing up!
I’m A Celebrity was, of course, not Stacey Solomon’s first taste of reality TV fame. That came when she auditioned for the sixth series of X Factor in 2009, blowing the judges away with her cheeky personality and her rendition of What A Wonderful World.
During the X Factor competition she was mentored by Dannii Minogue in the Girls category, and reached the final three. In the X Factor final she again performed What A Wonderful World, as well as Who Wants To Live Forever and a duet with Michael Buble, singing Feeling Good. Unfortunately she was pipped into third place by eventual winner Joe McElderry, and second placed Oli Murs.
TV presenting roles, mostly cameos, followed. However, she again hit the headlines in December 2010, when she won I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! beating Shaun Ryder into second place.
Stacey Solomon was the bookies favourite to win the show, even before the final line-up had been confirmed. She completed seven bushtucker trials along the way, which including munching down a kangaroo penis in the bushtucker eat-off against Aggro Santos. In our eyes, that definitely makes her a worthy winner!
