Biography
Twilight’s half-wolf hunk Taylor was born in Grand Rapids, USA where his dad worked as an airline pilot. As a kid, Taylor was bitten by the martial arts bug and studied karate. He’d earned his black belt by the age of eight and went on to win several junior world championships. It was his teacher, mentor, and former Blue Power Ranger Michael Chaturantabut who encouraged him to get into acting.
Taylor flew back and forth to LA for auditions while still at school in Michigan, somehow managing to continue not only his karate, but also play on the school football and baseball teams. No wonder he’s so fit. His family decided to relocate to California permanently in 2002.
Taylor’s initial Hollywood success came from a succession of voice roles. His voice pops up in, among many others, Rugrats Go Wild, Duck Dodgers and What’s New Scooby Doo. His early films roles saw him typically play jocks and school bullies.
His big break came with the Twilight saga where he was chosen to play Kristen Stewart’s seriously sexy werewolf love interest Jacob Black. To retain his role in the Twilight sequels, Taylor weight-trained extensively gaining 30 pounds of pure muscle in the process. He has dated Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.
